Are we all truly familiar with Fair Use policy? Do you abide by its strict guidelines and protocols? I had a conversation with several family members while at Asheboro Zoo yesterday regarding “bootleg” CDs and DVDs. Personally, I do not like to watch nor buy them. However, one family member will buy them within a second. I informed them; they are stealing (or) taking away capital from the producers of these resources. It amazed me how ignorant individuals can be towards others work. If it was their work, how would they feel? So, ask yourself, would you want someone who played no active part in your works to receive capital from it? Would you want your book to be recopied and given to others who did not pay for it? Come on people, let’s do the right thing! Just because it is, doesn’t mean it has to be. Just because you can purchase these “burned” CDs or DVDs, doesn’t mean you have to, right? Let’s respect others creative process!
